A newly established security firm, Massive Security Limited, says it is seeking to address gaps in private security services by offering protection for people and property across Malawi.
Operations Officer Vincent Mhango said the company offers services including standard guarding, CCTV, short-term security contracts and VIP protection.
Mhango said the company is already operating in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mangochi, Karonga and Zomba, adding that clients have responded positively to its services.
“The company is new, but the way we operate on the ground is being appreciated by our clients,” Mhango said.
One of its clients, Spencer Chalera, owner of Chalera Investments, said he has not experienced theft at his shops since engaging the firm.
“Since we engaged them, I have not experienced any theft at my shops. I would advise businesses to choose security companies that take care of their guards because if a guard is desperate to be paid, he cannot work properly and cannot protect property,” said Chalera.
Chalera’s comments highlight the importance of guards’ welfare in the delivery of effective security services, particularly the impact of timely and fair payment on their work.
Massive Security says it has trained more than 400 guards and will pay its workers at least the government-approved minimum wage.
